Peewees – Kingston Karate classes are perfect for those bigger kids looking at starting Karate for the first time and for those looking to progress to the next stage of their karate training. From the age of seven, we focus on teaching the children traditional and practical karate skills to be confident when faced with the unexpected.
At Kingston Karate, we focus on building resilience and respect for fellow students by following the centuries of karate tradition. We start to teach the students about self defense, and we practice techniques to help disarm the opponent by being prepared. The children work with each other and help each other in their journey and often build friendships with a common goal to achieve self-worth and independence.
The Kingston Peewee Karate class syllabus is rooted in almost fifty years of experience. First developed in 1976, it has evolved over the decades and includes a grading system specifically designed for children aged seven to eleven. We continue to include elements of our Okinawan wrestling developed by our very own Bugeido Karate Sensei Mark Reddish.
We offer the sale of our Pewee traditional karate uniforms through our school. We are always available to help show the kids the traditional ways of wearing their Kingston Karate Gi.
